Four local lady runners last weekend - pic by Stefan Allum

Four unidentified local ladies at last weekend's Race for Life in Ipswich, the docs are speed blood sampling, there will be a Suffolk Punch on the hill tomorrow morning (thought we heard somewhere and foal?) and the Bentwaters Cold War Museum is open only one day this month ... but it's this Sunday!

mo 11 Jun

Brundish Lodge Farm has an exquisite location (apart from the occasional motorbike racketing down the B1116), a load of arable, a herd ofChristopher Wells and two of his six ferrets some thirty Red Poll cattle, some beautiful horses and at the end of yesterday's farm walk young Christopher Wells produced armfuls of ferrets.  Previously we would have thought that's the sort of activity you probably wouldn't get life insurance for but his six charming animals have made us review our opinions.

we 6 Jun

We had to have it pointed out

... and while we're in heart of the community country Tracy Clifford has resigned as a town councillor due to "pressure of work"  ... well she does work for Roy.

Last month was our busiest ever with 11,584 visitors, teenage disorder or not and why has someone from Bargain Hunt joined the constabulary?

tu 5 Jun

Asian Outlaw BoA beetle drive (no, we're not sure what they are either) at the Con Club this Saturday and how flattering, one of the Asian Outlaws has visited the board.

sa 2 Jun

Stugig last night

one : day : lifeAllied ForceCould have done with some more faces at Stugig last night but Stuart's mum said they'd raised £700 for the Kariandusi School Trust.  Stuart's sister's hairdresser was the mc and bands Allied Force and one : day : life (the little punks were wearing in-ear monitors {TAKE THEM OUT!}) certainly cranked it out.

su 27 May

Lots of the action at the Masked Ball, very James Bond with the band masked and in evening dress as well.

A casino? How glamorous!

PS: If you know Clare Mooney's mum can you tell her we will be snapping the princesses tomorrow.

th 24 May

The fourth most common reason last year an ambulance was called from Fram will certainly surprise you, perhaps even shock ... impressive average response time though for our comparatively remote community.

sa 19 May

Don't Dance on Glass

John Bridges is signing (books! not waving his hands about!!) in The Crown this morning Raffle winner in Farnhamand last night Don't Dance on Glass were tearing the place up.  In Farnham it was quiz night and, as everywhere, the raffle winners were pleased to win.

sa 12 May

Steph and Kevin are back for another year

Not surprisingly Steph and Kevin are back for another year and having dismissed the Uke Orch as good but own up, it's really only one joke... no, we were wrong; they were excellent, very funny and we adored their version of Shaft.

No bread in Solar - pic by Simon BlackburnAgenda available for the Annual Town Council next Friday (that's when a chairman is elected), merry debate about Solar on the board and no results yet from yesterday's election.

10:45am  Results starting to come in but not Fram yet.

12:15pm  Declaration in and not surprisingly the Cons hold but impressively Eddie Thompson for the Greens outperformed both Labour candidates.

th 03 May

Clerk and Presiding Office at the Saxtead poll

Muffin at the Badingham pollCan't think of a nicer way to vote; in a caravan at the back of the pub with a very welcoming Clerk and Presiding Officer, though Muffin at the Badingham polling station was doing his best.  The four polling stations are open till 10 pm  and you don't need your poll card to vote though it helps.

we 25 Apr

Graham Owen wearing his musical hat

The Rev Graham Owen is now Rector of St Michaeel's and despite being dead John Donne raised over a £1,000 Sunday for the Toilets in the Tower (a bit like the Princes in the Tower but different).

mo 16 Apr

Yesterday's Greyhound Walk ~ Pic by Amanda FrostYesterday eighteen greyhounds turned up for the walk, Christina finished yesterday (Reliable Rob's turn next week) and this web site reappeared on the old host, rather erratically, during the afternoon ... it must be getting dizzy!  Tomorrow's planning agenda is available and can anyone help this lady from Austria?

su 15 Apr

Evette Price and plot driven cake

A massed greyhound walk 11am this morning at the Woodland Trust near Great Glenham (info here if the board's back) and the Habeas Corpus last night party last night had plot driven cake.

th 12 Apr

WPC Andrea Honeywood at last year's MSMSadly local community copper Andrea Honeywood will be retiring tomorrow (we will miss you Andrea) but the new Safer Neighbourhood Teams will ensure the tranquil calm of our charming market town continues to cascade gently down the watercourse of life ... except when it doesn't.

mo 9 Apr

Dr and Mrs Arthur Wicksteed

Yesterday's rehearsals of FADS' prod of Habeas Corpus (starting tomorrow, on all week) were going brilliantly yesterday.  Our companions were giggling away like billy-o at the back.  I only ever saw him once, by the light of a post coital Craven A.

Connie Wicksteed and Denzil Shanks

The builders will make the courtyard at the back of The Crown a no throughway from tomorrow until Friday week, and bingo starts up at The Con Club on a weekly basis from this Friday.

Newspapers outside the Dancing Goat

Lovely sunny morning on the Market Hill with newspapers outside the Dancing Goat and dancing to the busker.

Dancing to the busker

We've heard unofficially that the town council election will be uncontested;  ten nominations, one of which is a new face, for the thirteen places and regrettably we suspect that means the tc will have to reapply for quality parish status in a couple of years time.

mo 2 Apr

Young player at Saturday's rehearsal

We couldn't make the South Norfolk Youth Symphonic Band concert on Sunday (partly because of the London Blitz) but we did make Saturday's rehearsal and the combination of sheer size and all that youthful enthusiasm certainly kicks bot!

Lot of people

There were a lot of people at the skate park for the official opening and Gemima from Parham has won a Blue Peter badge at her third attempt and she's not the only BP badge in her school.

The offices are small but perfectly formedTheir new offices may be small but they are perfectly formed and have a toilet and to remind us they have moved the Volunteer Centre had an open evening last night (lovely canapés).

Everybody welcome at the skate park tomorrow for pro skater Pete King, the free tickets comp for Sunday's concert closes at noon, there are already ten people signed up for First Responders, and having pointed out Tuesday (no finger buffet but coffee and a Danish) how much safer we all are in our beds the constabulary have shut down Police Direct ... though to be fair it's not their fault.

A sea of emergency services

5pmish The B1116 is closed immediately after the Easton turn off because of a very serious road accident.  There is a sea of emergency services including the police and ambulance helicopters.  Three vehicles were involved.

7:45pm: We've slightly edited the above, see the board.

Saturday:  Major edits to the above, see the board.

The castle moat can be tricky

Taking the short cut out of the castle moat can be interesting in this muddy weather and one of the nice things about the skatepark is that differently aged skaters mix in.

Framlingham skatepark Wednesday late evening

We dropped in briefly on the Development Trust's agm last night which had a bigger crowd than last year.  Dawn Easter seems to have to departed into the middle distance and some woman from Harleston was going on about delivery.

Gamey and Nick discussing Leslie DolphinGamey and Nick Jenkins were discussing Leslie Dolphin's Radio Suffolk show last night in The Station.  As it's the BBC Gamey's taking his own biscuits and if you miss him this lunchtime you can listen again here ... nice choice of record Gamey!
