Simon Garrett- Vice Chairman
Simon Garrett is our Vice Chairman, He also sits on the Rights of Way, Highways & Lighting (Chair), Planning (Chair), Finance and Infrastructure Plan Committees and is the Suffolk Association of Local Councils rep.

Simon is a scientist and Chartered Engineer by profession, working for BT and the European Commission, researching into Internet technology. He is now retired, save for occasional consultancy. He was born in Surrey, has lived in Suffolk for most of the last 40 years and in the Framlingham area for over 20. He has two grown-up children who attended Thomas Mills High School and a step-son who attended Debenham High School. He is married to Ali, they are both involved in many Framlingham activities, both serving on various local bodies. Simon is also a keen photographer and member of the Framlingham Camera Club. He fills in the remaining time studying subjects as wide-ranging as economics, signal processing, astronomy, computing and photography. Joined the Town Council in 2015.

Vacancy for Deputy Town Clerk

Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Deputy Town Clerk. This is initially a part time post and the working hours will be flexible to include regular evening meetings and other events, to a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Candidates will be expected to:
Work alongside, report to and deputise for the Town Clerk in her absence and within that role to act as Proper Officer of the Council.
Be aware of and advise the Council regarding the laws governing the activities and responsibilities of the Council and its Councillors.
Work as part of a team of administrative staff, providing efficient and effective administrative services to the Town Clerk and the Town Council.
