Spadge sits on the PR & Markets and Lands committees.

Spadge is a professional engineer who maintains a number of business interests following the sale of his historic racing car company. He has lived in Framlingham since 1999 with his wife, a teacher at Sir Robert Hitcham’s, his son, now at university and his daughter who is in the sixth form at Thomas Mills High School. He is currently the Project Manager of Framlingham Area Youth Action Partnership, the local youth club he helped to found in 2001 that now has its own youth and arts centre on Saxtead Road. He is a long standing trustee of the Framlingham District Development Trust and a member of Greener Fram with particular responsibility for the mending at their ‘swap and mend’ events. He has previously served as a co-opted member of the FTC Entertainments committee that reinstated the Fireworks Spectacular, ran Midsummer Madness and the Go Cart race. He is one of the four ‘Slice of Life’ who bring occasional high quality performance events to various venues in Framlingham. His other interests include Tudor History, art, self-sufficiency, walking, music, performance driving and outdoor activities. Joined the Town Council in 2015.

Vacancy for Deputy Town Clerk

Candidates are invited to apply for the position of Deputy Town Clerk. This is initially a part time post and the working hours will be flexible to include regular evening meetings and other events, to a maximum of 20 hours per week.

Candidates will be expected to:
Work alongside, report to and deputise for the Town Clerk in her absence and within that role to act as Proper Officer of the Council.
Be aware of and advise the Council regarding the laws governing the activities and responsibilities of the Council and its Councillors.
Work as part of a team of administrative staff, providing efficient and effective administrative services to the Town Clerk and the Town Council.
