Thanks to our outgoing sponsor
Jackie's Coffee Bar
in Bridge Street. Despite the weather we
had the full English there
this
morning with scrambled eggs, one slice toast, one slice fried, large
coffee and two glasses of water. Lovely! Welcome back to
incoming (and returning) sponsor
Bayfields who amongst many other things manage the
Hachfest web site.
The Town Clerk's monthly
report is its usual interesting read; there's a waiting
list for allottments.

Quite jealous of our retiring sponsor
Brandeston Hall, they seem to have such a
lovely time there.
The empty sponsor slot has been taken up by the
Lion's Den
at the top of Church Street and though the name hasn't changed it's no
longer antiques but now an Ice Cream Parlour and Coffee Shop you can
expect to be open on Sundays.

Unofficially
we hear this very professional looking blue jobbie won yesterday's
gravity racing on the Market Hill. The racing was a great success
with spectators getting sufficiently involved to cheer! Brilliant
stuff.

We are blessed.
At last night's town council meeting
Steph Bennell, Kevin Coe and Richard Parlone were
re-elected (and as far as we could see
unanimously) as chairman, vice-chairman and finance
chairman for another year. The committees now go away and at their
meetings elect a committee chairman. The police report is
here.
New left side sponsor Arts Framlingham
have their programme
out for next month's
festival. Obvious bill toppers are the
Ukulele
Orchestra of Great Britain, we saw them last year at Easton
and they were very funny, more than one joke, could swing like a
slapper's handbag and we fell in love with Hester ... though not as much
as
Miss Olga. We'll also being looking forward
to Mouth to Mouth's Merry Wives of Windsor on the lawns of Red
House Farm, perhaps it will look as gorgeously lush as their
Mid Summer's Night Dream last year.

If
you didn't get your Town Guide
last weekend you can collect it from the
Town Council office
or the Library ...
our new sponsor gets some kind words on
the NTC board and the
new sponsor next week will be
The Lion's Den at the top of Church Street which
has transmogrified from antiques into an ice cream parlour!

Remember
Vic and
Mary Stanbrook cycling the
3,750 miles and seven countries of the
North Sea Cycle Route
in 2006? Bernie Friend who is from Southend (but we won't hold
that against him) rode it solo and then
wrote a book about it.
How's the
soap box building
going? Remember
the rules specify a minimum height so the driver probably
won't be allowed to lay flat on his projectile. Racing is
2-4pm Sunday and The Market Hill and Church St will be closed
to traffic but cars will still have access to the
Castle and Double St by two way working in Castle Street.
During practice before the racing local residents will be shepherded
through by the marshals.

It's the Town Council Annual Meeting
next Thursday, that's the
one where the chairman and vice-chairman get elected for the next twelve
months. The agenda's
here.
Hopkins Homes
have lodged an
outline planning application for 140 dwellings
(dwellings not houses) and it seems to include everything except a
jacuzzi and a casino.
