The Framlingham Market makes shopping in Fram totally a unique experience. Very few places have such a brilliant, thriving and active market as Framlingham. The majority of so-called 'market towns' in the country don't actually have a market anymore and we are very proud to be one of the genuine Market Towns still offering their valued services to the townsfolk in the UK..
The Market Place
Framlingham enjoys 2 market days every week which take place on the Market Hill as they have done for centuries (since about 1285 in fact) and enjoy a wide range of traditional wares from fresh meat and cheese to toys!
The Saturday Market runs from 6am until 6pm and the Tuesday Market from 6am until 4pm. Darren Smith (Fishmonger) is our Market Supervisor and the markets are monitored by the PR & Markets committee of the Framlingham Town Council.
Details of the Tuesday & Saturday Markets, including pitch application details, can be downloaded HERE. The accompanying Market trading conditions are downloadable HERE. The Young Persons Initiative Pitch (YPIP) Guidelines can be downloaded HERE.
The Market is managed and maintained by the Town Council and the valued revenue generated from the pitches contribute significantly to the council coffers. The Town Council offices are located at 10 Riverside, Framlingham which are 'manned' every Tuesday & Thursday from 10am - 4pm by our Town Clerk, Eileen for enquiries. You can call her on 01728 720183.
