Today's pic is of some of the catkins on the hazels on The Fens - the first sign of spring! The snowdrops are not far behind and will be showing soon. Mat Bayfield will be rounding off his month of daily walks for these last few days of January, having thus far raised over £10,000 for the Brain Tumour Charity. Tomorrow he is in Woodbridge, Glemham Hall Sunday, [with special performance by the Bayfield Boys], Iken On Monday and The Last Hurrah in Woodbridge on Tuesday.

Meanwhile we haven't touched base with Sam and Henry for a while as they continue with their walk to Kathmandu, raising money for another brain tumour charity. They are currently walking through India, and meeting with exceptional generosity and kindness from the Indian people, who are always very happy to see them. This weekend is the time for the RSPB Big Garden Birdwatch and the start of the Chinese New Year - the Year of the Rooster. There will be live music with 'South of the Border' at the Conservative Club from 8.30pm Saturday night.
