New Almshouses in Fram
Added on Wednesday 20th December

Today's pic shows the rapid progress being made in building the Mills Charity's 14 new almshouses in Mills Crescent [juction of Brook Lane & Vyces Road]. These are the first to be built in the town for hundreds of years and possibly the first ever 3 bed houses specifically intended for young families in need.  When completed the development will comprise 4 one -bed flats and 10 three bed houses; several of which will be specifically designed for less able-bodied persons.

This will provide accommodation for needy familes and single persons and couples [young or old], in the Framlingham area. The Charity is now accepting expressions of interest from local people who meet the scheme's criterion of a local connection to Framlingham or adjacent parishes.. It is hoped successful applicants will be able to start moving in in May 2018.  Full applications will be requested in the New Year from all eligible applicants who have registered at themillscharity@btconnect.com
