 To
make a first informal approach about a market stall you could speak
to Eileen
Coe the Town Clerk by phone, visit, or email,
or you could speak to Darren Smith the Market Supervisor on his fish
stall, but not when he's busy serving! Eileen and Darren
are both very approachable.
Formal
applications for a pitch on the Saturday and Tuesday Markets should
be made in writing to the Town Clerk including:
the
size of pitch required,
details
of goods to be sold, and
a
copy of Public Liability Insurance.
Applications
are considered at the next available meeting of the
Public
Relations and Markets Committee which you can observe.
If approved a start date will be agreed and
Market
Regulations and an Annual Licence issued.
Payment is made weekly to the Market Supervisor
(Darren Smith – Fish Stall). Once
established traders can pay a quarter in advance and benefit from a
10% discount. The Market rents and
regulations are reviewed annually. A copy of the market
regulations is available on request or can been downloaded here. |
