The introduction of pay and display parking in Framlingham’s three car parks has been confused and unsatisfactory.

East Suffolk Council’s new regulations were originally planned to become effective in April 2020. At the end of November, of the three car parks, only Fore Street is operating as intended with the new charges.

For the moment parking in Market Hill and The Elms is free, though the sign posted time restrictions are being enforced and penalty notices issued. Pay and display parking will begin in these two areas in the very near future.

Information on why the changes are necessary and how the current situation has arisen can be found on the Rights of Way, Highways & Lighting Committee page of Framlingham.com. CLICK HERE
