The ‘Framlingham & District Local History & Preservation Society’ was formally established in 1956. The Society holds monthly well-attended lectures at the United Free Church Hall from October to April with a variety of guest speakers. During the current COVID pandemic, most of the talks have been by Zoom, but it is hoped to resume face-to-face meetings this Autumn. Over Summer months, a range of visits to local buildings and sites of historic interest are arranged. The programme can be found at http://framlinghamarchive.org.uk/about/history-society-programme/.
The Society also publishes a magazine ‘Fram’, which is sent to members twice a year and maintains a photographic historical archive of the town at www.framlinghamarchive.org.uk.
Annual subscription is £12 per year, or £18 for two people living at the same address.
