Framlingham takes its biggest steps into the ‘new normal’ today as the coronavirus lockdown eases in England.

Framlingham restaurants, pubs and cafes can now reopen but will be following strict safety guidelines such as table service only, limited contact between staff and customers – and customers will have to give contact details when they enter a pub or restaurant.

The towns hotels, B&B’s and guest houses can also now reopen, but expect to see many precautions in place.

Welcome news to many will be that hairdressers are allowed to reopen, as long as they take safety precautions. You will almost certainly have to make an appointment and wear a mask and gown while in the chair. The library,  galleries and places of worship for ‘cut-down’ services.

Although children’s play areas can now reopen, the Pageant Field play areas remain closed until further notice, but it is hoped these can be reopened towards the end of July once COVID-19 measures have been considered and implemented in the interests of public safety.
