A new taxi-bus service is to be launched in 2021 connecting Framlingham with Campsea Ashe station. The start of the service, which was due on 15th January, has been delayed due to current tighter Covid restrictions but it is hoped that the first buses will run in March and a firm date will be announced as soon as possible.
Two distinctive electric buses will run hourly from 06.30 to 22.30 Monday to Saturday and between 09.00 and 19.00 on Sundays to link with departures and arrivals from the railway station. The service, known as Katch, will run initially as a shared taxi service bookable 24 hours in advance by phone: 01728.554455. The number of passengers will at first be limited due to restrictions made necessary by Covid 19. Eventually bookings will also be possible on-line.
The cost will be £4 for a single journey or £7 return, payable to the driver by cash or contactless card.
The buses will pick up from College Road (near the junction with Pembroke Road), Mount Pleasant and Bridge Street in Framlingham, then Parham, Hacheston and Wickham Market.
