Local residents enjoyed a wonderful audible sign that things may be getting back to normal in Framlingham last night as the bells of St Michaels rang out across the town for the first time in 14 months. Tuesday May 18th was the first time since the end of March 2020 that six bellringers gathered in the bell chamber at St Michael’s Church for a short practice and, so long as Covid restrictions allow, the bells will be heard again on Sunday mornings and Tuesday evenings, as well as for weddings.

The bellringers were (left to right) Vic Stanbrook, Jochen Culemann, Alison Robinson, Anne Smith, Mary Stanbrook and Robert Greenacre.
