St Michaels Rooms is one of Framlingham’s iconic buildings set in an historic location. It has served the town well for 130 years as a social venue. However, inevitably given the nature of its construction, the building is in need of redevelopment.
After two years of hard work the PCC and Framlingham Town Council have developed a way forward for renewing the rooms. The PCC will lead on the redevelopment of the rooms and at the Full Town Council meeting on 7thNovember 2019 two motions were passed to support their work.
Firstly, the Town Council agreed to provide up to £70k of local CIL funding for facilities for the new rooms. This will be provided under the Local Government (Miscellaneous Provisions) Act 1976. This money will be match funded by the PCC. The funding is subject to a Legal Agreement between the Town Council and the PCC. A copy of this Legal Agreement is on the Town Council website.
