Simon Garrett

Simon Garrett sits on the Rights of Way, Highways & Lighting, Planning (Chair), Finance & Strategic Planning and PR & Markets Committees. Simon is a scientist and Chartered Engineer by profession, working for BT and the European Commission, researching into Internet technology. He is now retired, save for occasional consultancy. He was born in Surrey, has lived in Suffolk for most of the last 40 years and in the Framlingham area for over 20. He has two grown-up children who attended Thomas Mills High School and a step-son who attended Debenham High School. He is married to Ali, they are both involved in many Framlingham activities, both serving on various local bodies. Simon is also a keen photographer and member of the Framlingham Camera Club. He fills in the remaining time studying subjects as wide-ranging as economics, signal processing, astronomy, computing and photography. Joined the Town Council in 2015.

The Framlingham Town Councillors are local, receive no payment and are not to be confused with District (East Suffolk) or County (Suffolk) councillors who have political affiliation. All Councillors are required to comply with the Code Of Conduct and register their interests.

There are currently vacancies for Framlingham Town Councillors and there will be a By-Election held on 6th May. Notices and information will be published nearer the time on the Notice Boards and www.framlingham.com website. In the meantime anyone interested can access information on the Town Council including agendas and minutes HERE.
